About a week ago, specs for the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plusboth leaked courtesy of Brazilian online retailer KTronix. Today, we get to see if the Moto G5 specs revealed by the retailer match those disseminated by benchmark testing site GFXBench. Let’s first check out the specs on the benchmark site. It shows that the Moto G5 will carry a Gorilla Glass 3 protected 5-inch display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The Snapdragon 430 SoC will be under the hood, featuring an octa-core CPU running at a clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The Adreno 505 GPU is included.
So far, the GFXBench specs line up perfectly with the previous leak. However, the benchmark test reveals that there will be two variants of the Moto G5; one will be equipped with 2GB of RAM while the other will carry 3GB of the sweet stuff. And the two versions will come with 16GB and 32GB of native storage, respectively. The KTronix leak only showed the phone with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. GFXBench shows that a 12MP rear-facing camera will be on board, along with a 5MP front-facing selfie snapper.
Rumored specs that are not found on GFXBench include a 2800mAh removable battery, 128GB capacity microSD slot, inclusion of a fingerprint scanner, two color options (Lunar Gray and Fine Gold) and the P2i nano coating that protects the phone and its innards from spills and light rain.
The Moto G5 and G5 Plus are expected to be unveiled at MWC on February 26th. Request a reminder on your phone.
