More Vulnerabilities Found With Netgear WiFi Routers

292

Two vulnerabilities in dozens of Netgear router models have been highlighted by Trustwave researchers. If they’re exploited, hackers can recover your router’s administrative password. The exploit only applies if your router accepts administration from outside the network.

It appears around 31 models are affected, but Netgear is already patching the issue. 19 models have received firmware updates.

If your model has yet to receive a fix, you can protect yourself by making sure your router doesn’t have remote management turned on.

The vulnerabilities are primarily a concern in cases where users aren’t attentive.
