Traditional watchmakers are slowly moving into the smartwatch game, and Movado Group has now announced that it has partnered with Google and plans to announce new Android Wear 2.0-based smartwatches later this year. There will be five new smartwatches, but they won’t be cheap.
The lineup will start at $495 and will include the ability to use Android Pay, various customizable options, 3-4 customizable elements with a wide array of complications, backgrounds, and watch hands.
“We are thrilled to partner with Movado, a longtime leader and one of the most iconic brands in the watch industry. With our combined expertise in watchmaking, design and software, we are able to create a beautiful yet functional timepiece that helps people live their everyday lives,” said David Singleton, Vice President of Android Engineering at Google.
