It was only yesterday that the first render of the LG G6 made its way online, revealing that LG could be sticking to a design that’s similar to its 2016 flagship, the LG G5. Another set of renders has now cropped up courtesy of reliable leakster OnLeaks. While the initial render was a barebones rendition of the phone’s design, the new renders have more detail, showing things like the dual rear camera, rear fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C port, and even the G6 logo.

Of course, the design shown in these renders cannot be taken as the final version, but the appearance of images from two different sources in a matter of days certainly makes for compelling information. The biggest takeaway is that LG seems to be giving up its plans of making modularity a thing on flagship smartphones, as the G6 is a single slab with what looks like a mix of glass and metal on the back. With reports of the G6 featuring wireless charging, LG is likely to go with glass for the rear panel, as wireless charging isn’t supported on metallic devices.

The G6 is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy S8, and we are likely to see more details make their way online before LG can take the wraps off its next flagship. The LG G6 has a lot riding on it following the lukewarm response to the LG G5 and the competition from the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7, and we should soon be able to see what LG is cooking up to fix its substantial misstep this year.
