Though the drones market can’t compete with other niches in terms of volume and popularity, it’s a great place for those who want to free their imagination and create something new. That’s why almost all the quadcopters differ from each other. On the other hand, there are a few favorite drones like the DJI Phantom, and many Chinese manufacturers try to imitate them. For example, we can recall the Syma X8C. Actually the clones don’t provide the same experience, but most of them are capable of bringing a lot of fun. Moreover, if choosing a quadcopter attentively you can acquire a device with at least one selling point. Say, the GTeng T902C Mini is the most adorable drone; the Ideafly Grasshoper F210 is considered as the fastest drone; the FQ777-124 is a pocketable drone; the GPTOYS F51 is a waterproof drone and so on. But what’s amazing almost all these drones cost around $20-40. Thus you can get your hands on a good quadcopter for a song. Today we are going to take a glance at the MJX X600, a drone with a camera attached. At last, I guess it will sport a feature making the MJX X600 an attractive drone.

When talking about cheap drones many think a number of functions will lack. But this is not about the MJX X600. The latter has the option of FPV and record video. And though not all drones come with cameras, the selling point of this device is set to be another feature. There are three different settings controlling the speed and maneuverability of the aircraft depending on your skill level. The first one is considered as the beginner mode. The latter allows users to make a simple flight moving the drone forward, back, left, and right. You can also make 3D flights by pushing a dedicated button.
However, as for a precaution, there are three steps to control the speed. Of course, it can be turned off, but we recommend not to do this, because beginners can crush flying at 3 meters above the ground.
If you fly far away and are not aware of direction, it will be safer to make the drone to return to the arrival point by pushing a special button.
The two other modes for advanced users will be uninteresting for many users. So I think it’s better to stop here. However, you have to know the modes can be changed via a button placed on the controller. You also have a visual cue from the display.
MJX X600 Battery and Power
The drone comes with a 7.4V 700mAh lithium battery. The charging is implemented via USB. There is a LED turning into red when the drone is charging and green when it’s fully charged.
MJX X600 Design
It comes in two color options – black and white. But many experienced users recommend to put some colored tape on the back arms to better figure out orientation in day flight.
The controller works on 2.4GHz frequency, and I have to say we all have been surprised seeing such a well-built device for the price. Without sinking into the descriptive details I am offering you to take a look at the photo below provided by droneflyers.wordpress.com.
There is an on/off button on the top of the drone. And I have to say this is a very useful feature, as many drones get ready to fly once the battery is installed.
MJX X600 Aerial Video Recording
There are two way to record videos via this quadcopter. First, you can insert a microSD card into the card slot on the upper side of the camera and press the Record button from the transmitter. So you can watch the videos on any device later. However, the second method is more interesting – you can use MJX FPV app on your smartphone and record videos as well. Here FPV stands for First Person View.
For the second method, you have to turn on the switch located on the drone body. Thereafter, the drone will appear in your smartphone’s WiFi list. So when you connect and launch the app, an aerial image is displayed. You only have to press the Record button. At last, you can save the videos to the camera roll.
The camera on the drone comes with a c4006 lens and it’s capable of recording 720p videos.
The MJX X600 is priced at $54.67 that means we are dealing with a cheap quadcopter coming with its own camera. As I predicted at the beginning of the review, there are a few features that can become selling points for this device. First, the transmitter is built very well, and it’s designed for three types of users – beginner, intermediate, and expert. Thus this drone for everyone. Second, there are many useful buttons like return the initial point, adjust the speed and so on. Thus you won’t face any problem when flying in different conditions. Third and the last, the MJX X600 comes with a 700mAh battery providing up to 12 minutes of flight. So you will manage to do anything planned during a single flight.
