A lot of activities were going on that day and developers were busy, but this week we’re back and I’m here with the MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.10.13 Changelog Preview.
In the last week, I’ve received and seen a lot of complaints about the unavailability of the latest version of the MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM and requests for the newest version, so I guess this article would be important to you guys. Here is the full MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.10.13 Changelog Preview.
The MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.10.13 brings minor but important updates to the messaging app and interface. An Automated Tasks feature has also been added to the MIUI Security App to enable you have full control on your device. Below are the full details.

Ability to copy messages contents directly from the Notification Shade Interface added
We’ve all been in situations where we’re trying to sign up or sign in into a website and a verification code needs to be sent to our phone number(s). When the verification code is sent, since it’s unable to copy message contents from the notifications bar, we’d have to minimise the browser or app where the verification is needed, open our messaging app, open the verification message, copy the content(s) we need, close the messaging app, re-open the browser or app where verification is needed before pasting the verification code into the respective text are and continuing with or sign-in/up.
That’s a long and strenuous process that we shouldn’t have to go through every time, especially me 😉 because as a blogger I visit a lot of sites every hour and this verification procedure occurs many times daily. Luckily, the latest version of MIUI 8, MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.10.13 is adding the ability to copy message contents directly from the floating notification window when they are received and appear there. You can then paste it into wherever it is needed without going through the tedious process I described above. Below is a picture representation of what I’m talking about.
Though some apps now automatically retrieve these codes when they are delivered to the phone number, it would still be useful for the apps that don’t do so, as well as in situations when a verification code is not even involved.
Automated Tasks added in Security settings – Get Tasker-like power over your Xiaomi smartphone!
This is the feature I’m most excited about in the latest iteration of the MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM software. An Automated Tasks menu has been added (above Connection Speed settings) under Tools under the Security interface in the Settings application. This gives you the ability to automate several system settings and functions like turning on and off of Airplane Mode at a specific time or when something happens (battery level reaches a particular percentage). Other system settings that can be changed or automated this way include Silent mode, Screen brightness, GPS, Sync and Bluetooth amongst others.
This feature works just like in the Tasker app, just that it’s a little bit less sophisticated, but unlike Tasker, it doesn’t require you to pay any money; just update your Xiaomi smartphone to MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM 6.10.13 using either Fastboot or Recovery. Who agrees with me that it’s good to be a Xiaomi user? 🙂
