This week’s update promises to be an exciting one, thanks to a new feature called Smart Assistant which I call Xiaomi’s response to the Google Assistant present in the new Google Pixel smartphones. That’s not all. Some minor but important updates are made to existing features in the Alarm and Clock settings. Xiaomi Smart Assistant introduced
As I said earlier, this might be Xiaomi’s response to Google Assistant. Though the feature is still in its developmental stages, it is able to provide you with tangible assistance like asking you if you want to continue listening to music when you plug in your earphones and allowing you to quickly check information from apps like data usage and Mi Fit steps.
Switch to turn on/off Alarm Notification in Clock settings
If you use the alarm to regularly rouse yourself from sleep or any other related tasks, you must be familiar with the feature of the clock app which sends you a push notification some minutes before an alarm rings, so that if you’re active or awake by that time you can easily turn off the alarm.
Though this feature is very useful, the caveat is that not everyone needs (or wants) it. Well, MIUI developers have now realised that fact and have added an option in form of a switch in Clock settings, which allows you to turn off or turn on the feature whenever you want.
Automatic saving of Alarm on Home Button tap
The majority of us have been in a situation where we’re setting the alarm and we mistakenly tap the home button, and Boom!, all our alarm settings are gone. MIUI 8 China Developer ROM 6.11.10 is here to change that; now when you tap the Home button while setting an alarm, the alarm will be automatically saved.
