392

In a presentation for Ignite 2021, Microsoft Senior Program Manager Darryl Brown introduced that Microsoft is planning to unify the desktop and cellular code base for his or her Edge browser.

Currently, Edge Mobile is predicated in Webkit, and has a wholly separate codebase, which means a function on each desktop and cellular must be constructed twice.

Microsoft plans to cellular all of the browsers to Chromium, which is predicted to lead to options coming sooner to cellular.

The work has been happening behind the scenes for a yr now, and can quickly be out there in beta on the Google Play Store and Apple Test flight.
