According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, women currently hold less than 25 percent of STEM jobs. And, globally, only 16 percent of female students graduate from STEM subjects, according to the World Economic Forum. Microsoft is trying to improve these numbers through various initiatives across the company. Today, they announced that they are partnering with National Geographic on March 18th to celebrate women and girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This event will be both online and at select Microsoft Store locations.
If you want to attend in person, register for a #MakeWhatsNext Workshop, geared for girls age 8 and older, at the following Microsoft Store locations.
If you want to attend online, you can join at 1 pm on Saturday, March 18th on Facebook as National Geographic brings us a LIVE stream with Jennifer Adler, a National Geographic Young Explorer.
