Microsoft Docs.com Search Feature Exposed Sensitive Fil…

Microsoft’s Docs.com search function allowed sensitive files to be viewed by the public, though it’s not clear if Microsoft is to blame. Many users complained about the issue on social media and Microsoft initially responded by disabling search.

The search ability has since returned and is functioning as it’s supposed to.

Google and Bing searches could also be completed to track down private information. In some cases, it’s possible social security numbers and other private info was revealed.

This problem may have come from people not realizing Docs.com marks documents as public by default.
