After teasing us earlier this month, today, October 20, 2016, Feral Interactive had the great pleasure of announcing the release of the Mad Max open world action-adventure video game for the SteamOS, Linux, and Mac platforms.
Feral Interactive is well known for bringing AAA titles to the Linux and Mac gaming world, and after porting the Tomb Raider 2013 reboot last year to our beloved platforms, which continue to get more fans by the day, now the UK-based video games publisher delights us with the superb Mad Max game developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Warner Bros.
“Following the theft of his Interceptor, Max teams up with the gifted mechanic Chumbucket to build the ultimate survival vehicle, the “Magnum Opus.” Players design, customize and upgrade their vehicle by choosing from different car chassis and a myriad of upgrades including mounted weapons, armor and engines in order to escape to the Plains of Silence,” reads the Mad Max minisite.
Here are the Linux and Mac requirements recommended by Feral Interactive
To fully enjoy the Mad Max game on your Linux gaming rig, Feral Interactive recommends that you use either Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) or SteamOS 2.0 operating systems (64-bit only), have an Intel Core i7 processor running at 3.6 GHz, 16GB RAM, at least 34GB free disk space for installation, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 or better graphics card with 4GB RAM and the Nvidia 367.35 proprietary driver.
The game also works well if you have an Intel Core i5 CPU running at 3.4 GHz or an AMD FX8350 64-bit processor, 8GB RAM, and an Nvidia 660ti graphics card or better. On the other hand, Mac players need an Intel Core i5 processor running at 3.2 GHz, 8GB RAM, and a supported graphics card with 2GB RAM. Please note that AMD Radeon and Intel GPUs are not supported at this time on Linux or SteamOS.
You can purchase Mad Max from Steam or Feral Interactive’s online store now!
