The Boring Company has gone from being an idea posted by Tesla CEO Elon Musk to social media to an actual transportation possibility in very little time. Musk is already meeting with government officials to discuss the plan and a recent meeting with the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti, was “promising.”
They discussed Musk’s proposal to create a tunnel network capable of moving around “cars, bikes, and pedestrians.” It could help reduce congestion in places like Los Angeles, making it a potentially attractive option.

Musk says permits are “harder than technology” in cases like this, so support from government officials is vital if The Boring Company is going to be successful in any city. For now, the talks with LA are only preliminary.
