To improve the color quality of its 4K TVs, LG is using “nano cell” technology. The Nano Cell LCD models ensure that accurate and consistent color performance is provided no matter the viewing angle.
Its new Super UHD TV lineup for 2017 benefits from a partnership with Technicolor that’ll add Technicolor Expert Mode, Advanced HDR support, and other capabilities to the models.
Every model that uses the nano cell tech offers Active HDR, which inserts HDR data into individual parts of a frame, removing the importance of the kind of HDR data included in the raw material. A separate HDR Effect feature will boost the quality of regular images.
The top model in the lineup is the SJ9500, which has a 0.27-inch thick frame at its thinnest point.
