During yesterday’s event, we thought that Apple will announce new Thunderbolt Display, since the last model is officially discontinued. That didn’t happen, but LG did announce a new pair of monitors to go along with the latest Apple MacBook Pro notebooks.
The LG UltraFine displays have been designed specifically for use with the new Apple laptops and come in 21.5-inch 4K and 5K 27-inch sizes. Both displays have built-in speakers, a FaceTime-ready camera and a microphone, and uses Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. There are also three USB-C ports. Since the new MacBook Pro uses Thunderbolt 3 ports for IO, users can use all four ports to power LG monitors.
The Ultrafine 4K Display costs $699.95, while the 5K model is priced at $1,299.95.
