A few days back, LG’s latest flagship smartphone, the G6 went on sale in its home market of South Korea. If a report out of South Korea is to be believed, the G6 received a good response from consumers in the country.

Last year, LG sold around 15,000 units of the G5 on launch day, so it looks like the G6 could end up being more successful than its predecessor, at least in the South Korean market. The G6 numbers could in fact have gone even higher, as consumers could go out to purchase the G6 only in the evening on the day it went on sale in South Korea, due to the presidential sentence earlier in the day.

According to the report, consumers have appreciated the G6’s 18:9 aspect ratio display as well as the fantastic audio quality delivered by the Quad-DAC inside. Provided LG is able to lure customers towards the G6 in the coming weeks, the G6 could very well turn out to be the most successful G-series flagship from the company. Samsung’s decision of delaying the launch of its Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones is also proving to be a great opportunity for LG.

LG G6 will be going on sale in quite a few international markets in the coming weeks. In Australia, the smartphone will be available starting March 28. In the US, the G6 will be launching on April 7th. Consumers in Singapore too will have to wait until early April to get their hands on LG’s latest flagship.
