With increasing performance, devices these days produce much more heat and companies are having hard times keeping them under control. We still don’t know the exact reason why Galaxy Note 7 was exploding, but most people believe it was because of battery overheating.
To prevent the battery on the LG G6 from overheating, LG designed copper heat pipes that will help spread heat around. Apparently the battery will not overheat even at temperatures as high as 65°C. In addition to designing new cooling system, LG is also testing the battery for the new flagship at temperatures 15% higher than the US and European standards.
