Lenovo acquired Motorola from Google for $2.91 billion in 2014 and while we thought that the Motorola brand will disappear, it looks like just the opposite is happening. A report from China claims that Lenovo plans to ditch its own name and launch all future phone under the Moto branding.
This means that Lenovo would no longer sell self-branded smartphones, and the laptop and PC devices would be their main focus. Also expect to see some new lineups, while some Lenovo series could be merged with Motorola’s current smartphone lineups.
