After plenty of rumors, LeEco’s Le Pro 3 is now official. A humdinger of a smartphone, it joins a small, elite cluster of smartphones to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset, and also arrives with a massive 4070 mAh battery.

Launched today in China, the device omits the 3.5mm audio jack just like the iPhone 7 and some variants of the Moto Z. LeEco’s own Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA) tech, which offers digital output as opposed to analog, is present once more with the Le Pro 3. Where Apple touts its proprietary Lightning infrastructure, the Le Pro 3 will include a USB Type-C port, and will ship with Type-C earbuds as standard.

The 5.5-inch FHD display is said to be a 2.5D effort, while the device gets 64 GB of non-expandable storage. There’s also a 16-megapixel main shooter with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and PDAF, along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle snapper on the front. As aforementioned, the 4070 mAh battery is of a higher capacity than most, and thankfully, Quick Charge 3.0 is part of the bargain. Even with such an array of internal hardware, the Le Pro 3 manages to stay relatively svelte at 7.5mm thin.
Running LeEco’s eUI 5.8 atop Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, there’s no word as yet on price nor availability. But with LeEco having promised to take on some of the big guns this year, it’s likely that this particular beast will see the light of day in the U.S. market.
At what kind of price would you consider purchasing the LeEco Le Pro 3? Let us know in the comments.
