Leaked Intel roadmap shows 7000P Pro and 700P BGA SSDs

There is a newly leaked Intel roadmap on the loose, showing pending SSDs and they mention some unannounced Intel Pro 7000P SSDs (intended for the business market. The interesting thing here is that these are using a BGA, aka ball-grid array form factor.

With BGA the form factor is much more compact than M2 variants, it could be five times smaller. The roadmap got leaked by Myce. So to reiterate, all SSD goodness would be fitting onto one BGA chip, that includes the controller, dram cache and NAND themselves. The Intel Pro 7000P would make use of the PCIe interface to reach read and write speeds of 1800 MB/s and 1200 MB/s, respectively. The solid-state SDDs would make use of 64-layer TLC-nand storage and would random 4k performance of 150,000 IOPS for both reading and writing.

According to the roadmap, both the Pro 7000P and the 700P would be available in Q4 of this year. As far as the storage capacity is concerned, volume sizes would be 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB.
