Google is expected to release Android Wear 2.0 on February 9, the same day when two upcoming smartwatches will be announced. Google is expected to unveil LG Watch Sport and Watch Style during a dedicated event next month.

Images of the upcoming LG Watch have just leaked, Evan Blass posted pictures of the new smartwatch on its Twitter account. The smartwatches will come with Android Wear 2.0 pre-installed and will be provided in multiple color options, including silver and rose gold. The devices don’t appear to feature any Google branding, despite the fact that Google worked closely with LG during development.

The smartwatch featured in the leaked images will have a 10.8mm size and a 1.2-inch OLED display. Its screen resolution reaches 360 x 360 pixels and LG Watch Style will be provided in titanium color variant as well.

IP68 certification and integration with Google Assistant

LG Watch Sport is the larger smartwatch equipped with a 1.38-inch OLED screen with 480 x 480 pixel resolution. The smartwatch comes with two buttons and will have a size of about 14.2mm. It will come with swappable straps and will be made available in titanium and dark blue color variants.

Both smartwatches will offer multiple connectivity options including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but the Watch Sport will be equipped with additional cellular connectivity like 3G and LTE support, as well as GPS and NFC (Near Field Communication). It will also come with a heart rate sensor and Android Pay support.  Both smartwatches will come with IP68 and IP67 certifications for water and dust protection.

Watch Sport will come with 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a 430mAh battery to draw power from. The Watch Style has 512MB of RAM, the same amount of storage, but a smaller battery of 240mAh.

Google worked closely on the development of these two smartwatches and integrated Google Assistant features and compatibility with iOS.
