Microsoft will be holding a new hardware event next week, and it’s believed that the company will take the wraps off the Surface All-in-One PC and the new Surface Mouse and Surface Keyboard.

Additionally, partners will also take the stage to introduce some of their new products, and it turns out that there’ll be at least one Windows 10 Mobile device to see daylight during the event.

We’ve known for a while that the Alcatel IDOL 4S powered by Windows 10 Mobile is coming, but a new leak that took place this weekend seems to confirm that its release is just around the corner, and it could take place during Microsoft’s October 26 hardware event.

The leak that you can see here compares the new Windows phone side by side with the iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7, proving that Alcatel’s new model is at least as good as rivals.

Snapdragon 820, 21-megapixel camera

For example, the IDOL 4S will come with a quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15 GHz, while the Samsung Galaxy S7 features a dual-core chip running at the same speed plus a secondary quad-core Qualcomm CPU at 1.5 GHz. The iPhone 7 is powered by Cupertino’s new A10 Fusion quad-core processor.

Alcatel will use a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED screen, while both the iPhone 7 and the S7 use smaller screens. The iPhone 7 comes with a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, while the S7 uses a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED unit.

In terms of RAM, the IDOL 4S will launch with 4GB, the same as the S7, while the iPhone 7 uses just 2GB. There will be just one storage version of the Windows phone – 64 GB, but microSD card support will also be offered. The iPhone 7 is available with 32 GB, 128 GB, or 256 GB storage, while the S7 also comes with microSD card and 32 GB of internal storage.

The camera of the IDOL 4S will be a 21-megapixel unit, while the front-facing one will boast 8 megapixels. On paper, this is better than both the iPhone 7 and the S7 which come with 12/7 MP and 12/5 MP, respectively.

The IDOL 4S will launch with a 3,000 mAh battery and will feature Quick Charge 2.0, and will also support Windows Hello with a fingerprint sensor. There won’t be a camera for iris scanning.

VR goggles will also ship with the IDOL 4S, so it’ll help Microsoft’s evolution in virtual reality. No details on pricing are available just yet, but expect the phone to be a fairly expensive purchase.
