A couple of days back, we came to know that Xiaomi is going to announce a new series of smartphones and it won’t be Mi or Redmi. Guess what! A new sub-brand of Xiaomi is debuting soon, and it is named as ‘Lanmi.’ Most of you might not know that ‘Redmi’ means ‘Red Rice’ and ‘Lanmi’ means ‘Blue Rice.’ So finally, the confusion is over as we now are aware of the new sub-brand or the new series of phones that are soon starting.

Now, the Xiaomi X1 that made headlines a few days back is coming with the name Lanmi X1, and it will be the first smartphone from this sub-brand of Xiaomi. There was also information that Xiaomi X1 is the phone that will replace Redmi Pro 2, but it isn’t going to happen as X1 is another device. Talking about the specifications of the X1, it is coming with two main models and four different variants.
The first model will feature 5.5-inch 2160x1080p display, Snapdragon 660, dual Sony IMX362 or IMX368 sensor on the rear along with the rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Now coming to the second model, it will feature the same specs with the only difference being the position of the fingerprint scanner as it is going to be on the front. Both these models will have four variants –
- 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM (Standard Variant)
- 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM (High-End Variant)
- 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM (Standard Variant)
- 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM (High-End Variant)
