We recently reported that Joe Belfiore was back at Microsoft after a 1 year holiday with his family. Joe Belfiore previously led the “PC-Tablet-Phone” team for the Operating Systems group at Microsoft. According to a new report, Joe Belfiore is now running the consumer-focused Windows Shell at Microsoft. Belfiore will be reporting to Terry Myerson, who is leading the Windows and Devices group at Microsoft. Joe Belfiore will be responsible for finding news to “make money” with Windows 10 as the software giant is slowly moving away from the traditional licensing method. The report states:
“Joe will be running the consumer-focused Windows Shell and will be reporting to Terry Myerson; his objective will be to find new ways to make money with Windows 10 as the traditional licensing model of the OS goes away, especially in the lower-priced segment. There will be other responsibilities under his belt but this is the high-level objective and it may not sit well with some users.”
It is worth noting that Joe Belfiore is yet to update his LinkedIn profile and the company didn’t comment when asked about Belfiore’s new job at the company.
