I unbox the Intel 510 Series SSD and show how to install it in the 2011 MacBook Pro (15″ Core i7). Then, I install OS X, and perform some of the same tests from my first 2011 MBP video. Please feel free to leave comments or questions and I will try to respond. Also be sure to rate. Thanks for watching!

  1. @Treeman5744 Agreed, the average consumer might not buy a $200+ SSD right now. And, it’s hard to ignore the price per gigabyte ratio compared to HDDs. If you can get over those things, I think it’s an excellent way to upgrade a new computer, or breathe new life into something that’s maybe just a few years old.

  2. @bballfreaksa I got it from buy dot com. Head to slick deals (no space) dot net and search for intel 510 to keep an eye out for a good buy. I got the $269 deal from March, but there may be better prices now. You may also find better prices for other brands. Good luck!

  3. They’re not that reasonably priced at the moment. For the average consumer these drives can be as much as a cheap computer. I’ll be sticking with my standard hd until the price makes a serious drop.
