iPhone 7 Storage Versions Confirmed by Foxconn Worker in New…

Apple is expected to take the wraps off the new iPhone 7 on Wednesday, and we already know pretty much everything about the new model, although last-minute leaks seem to point to some unexpected tweaks that could see daylight as well.

And new information that has emerged today comes to confirm the storage options for the new iPhone lineup that we’ve told you about, as Apple is making changes that would make a little bit more sense since no microSD card support is offered.

The 16 GB version of the iPhone will be discontinued, so the entry-level model will come with 32 GB of storage, which is quite an important change, given the fact that iOS and the pre-installed apps already eat up at least several gigabytes on each device – and iOS 10 is very likely to take even more space. Previously, the 16 GB iPhone had some 11 GB available because of the pre-installed software.

Three storage options for the iPhone 7

According to today’s leak, which reportedly comes straight from a Foxconn worker (Foxconn is one of the main Apple partners for the production of iPhone models), the iPhone 7 will come in three different storage versions, namely with 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. The 64 GB version is thus being pulled too.

As a result, the top-of-the-range iPhone 7 will come with 256 GB of storage, and there are rumors that this particular configuration will also be offered in an exclusive color. Apple is planning two new dark versions of the iPhone, including a glossy Piano Black, which could only be available with the Plus model featuring 256 GB of storage space.

Without a doubt, this storage upgrade comes in handy to iPhone buyers since no microSD card support is being offered, but also because Apple is also upgrading cameras, and photos will eat up more space on devices. More information on these new storage versions and color options will be provided by Apple itself on Wednesday, during the official iPhone 7 unveiling.
