Indian consumers will pay quite a bit more for the iPhone 7 than those in the United States. The cost of a 32 GB unit is 40% higher in India at Rs. 60,000 ($903), a price that’s driven by the inclusion of sales tax, the involvement of third-party retailers, and a buffer for changes in the Rupee’s value.
Future iPhones will likely come in at a more reasonable price point in India since Apple will be allowed to operate its own retail stores and adjust prices accordingly. Some of its stores may be open in time for the iPhone 7s.
