Facebook’s Instagram app has been installed more than a billion times on Android, according to the Google Play Store. This is the fourth Facebook app to reach that milestone following Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Few apps have reached that point, indicating how popular Instagram is.
While it may have over a billion installs on Android, Instagram’s active user base is a bit smaller at around 500 million across all platforms. 300 million of those users are viewing Instagram every day.
Instagram is the 19th Android app to reach the billion install mark.
