Instagram now lets you upload photos on the web

202

Instagram’s transition from a mobile-only app is now complete. The app which debuted as an iPhone-only app has been expanding since its release, first expanding to Android, then the Web and Windows Phone. Now Facebook’s photo sharing app runs on Windows 10 PCs, phones and tablets in addition to every major mobile platform, and Instagram isn’t stopping there. The firm has begun to light up new features for web-users slowly in order to bridge the experience between the native app and the web app, adding an Explore tab and now allowing users to upload photos without downloading the hefty app to their devices.

To be clear, this is limited to the mobile web version, so only devices browsing(or spoofing) from mobile devices like the iPad, iPhone, Android phones and tablets and various other mobile devices are able to access Instagram’s site features. You can’t apply filters, nor can you see stories or streams – but it’s a start. For users who really just want to use Instagram to view and share photos and can’t be fussed with live streams and stories or those who can’t access Instagram’s app on their mobile device for some reason — Instagram’s Mobile web app is now a real contender.
