Steve Shen, DIGITIMES, Taipei [Tuesday 16 August 2016]

Semiconductor products distributor Supreme Electronics has reported net profits of NT$383 million (US$12.21 million) for the second quarter of 2016, up 165.7% on quarter and 180.1% on year. The earnings translated into an EPS of NT$1.24 for the quarter.

For the first half of 2016, net profits totaled NT$527 million, increasing 219.2% from a year earlier. EPS for the January-June period was NT$1.51.

The company also reported revenues of NT$10.516 billion for July, up 12.1% on month and 39.27% on year. Accumulated 2016 revenues through July totaled NT$57.499 billion, increasing 41.3% from a year earlier.

Increasing shipments of flat panel and memory products to China’s smartphone vendors, including Oppo and Vivo, contributed to Supreme’s strong sales during the January-July period, according to industry sources.

The company’s stock price lost NT$0.35 to finish at NT$19.10 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) during the August 16 session.
