I-O Data launches a new wireless LAN repeater, the WN-AC1167EXP. The unit uses an AC plug (can be directly plugged into the electrical outlet) and a WPS button, and supports for dual-band WiFi access point (2.4GHz – 300Mbps and 5GHz – 867Mbps).
Corresponding to the ‘Draft 11ac’ (the new standard for Wireless LAN IEEE802.11ac), the WN-AC1167EXP provides security through encryption using WPA2-PSK (AES), WPA-PSK (TKIP/AES) and WEP (64/128bit).
The I-O Data WN-AC1167EXP is scheduled to hit the market from the end of October for 6,600 Yen (roughly $65).
