At the 2017 China Internet Conference, the smartphone company Huawei has announced it is developing an AI processor. The new application processor will combine a CPU, GPU and AI and the company’s CEO Richard Yu hopes it will be ready for release in the second half of the year.
Not much is said about the AI processor, but the company added that they are working on the Kirin 970 chipset that’s expected to be packed inside the Huawei Mate 10. The chipset will be based on financial security requirements, so as to support credit transfers among banks.
