Huawei is preparing for the unveiling of an exciting new smartphone under the name of Mate 9. The device is set to be announced on November 3 in Munich, Germany and Huawei has released a video teaser to get consumers exciting about the phone’s arrival.
The video was posted to Huawei’s YouTube channel and it focuses on the needs of consumers in terms of battery capacity on a smartphone. It starts with an image of a battery icon indicating low power and the question “Do you hate this too?” above.
Huawei asked several smartphone users to share their concerns when it comes to battery life on their phones. One of them said he hated the moment when his phone’s battery jumps from 40% to 21% of a sudden or when the phone’s battery runs out while performing various tasks. They said recharging simply takes too long and carrying a power bank around defeats the purpose of having a mobile device.

One user said he needs more battery lifetime and quick recharge rates, while another said that he hasn’t found a phone yet that fits his needs. Huawei seems to suggest that the upcoming Mate 9 is the phone that these users would need, at least in terms of battery life.
Quick charge is a feature that many flagships on the market offer, while battery life depends strongly on usage and other factors, like Android OS version. The Mate 9 is rumored to come with a 4,000mAh battery, one of the most powerful in a smartphone. The phone might be made available in two variants, with the Pro model carrying a price tag of about $1,300.
It could run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box, which comes with some tweaks that safe battery life. This isn’t the only video teaser that Huawei released for promoting the Mate 9, the company also posted a 35-second video suggesting that the Mate 9 release will be one of the most important of the year.
