HTC U Ultra Sporting a Sapphire Glass Body Soon Available

239

It was revealed earlier this month, that HTC’s brand new flagship, the U Ultra, will come with a Snapdragon 821 chipset alongside 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. Similar to Apple’s latest iPhones, the HTC’s U Ultra doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Similar to the LG’s V10 and V20 flagships as well, the HTC device has a small secondary display placed above the main screen in front of the device.

During the launch, it is promised that there will be a ‘special edition’ of the U Ultra. It will come with 128GB of storage, alongside a sapphire glass shell as opposed to the usual Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.

This limited edition model has already appeared on HTC’s store site in Taiwan. Although the standard 64GB model is retailing off $23,900 TWD (around $760 USD), the larger 128GB sapphire glass variant will cost significantly more at $28,900 TWD (approximately $920 USD).

We know that the 128GB sapphire edition will be available in Taiwan next month. However, as to its availability elsewhere in the world, it appears that details are still hard to come by. Considering that the special model was also mentioned in HTC’s US press release for the U Ultra, logic dictates it will be available in the US as well, however, its price remains unknown.
