MaximusHD ROM developer LlabTooFeR has revealed that the upcoming HTC Bolt smartphone will be the company’s first device to ship with the latest Android Nougat operating system out of the box, with the HTC Sense 8.0 layer running on top. The HTC Bolt, codenamed Acadia, was first leaked online last month, when reputed smartphone leakster Evan Blass tweeted an official render of the smartphone in Silver.

The HTC Bolt, as you can see in the render above, looks a lot like the company’s flagship smartphone, the HTC 10. It sports a similar metal unibody design with similar chamfered edges and power button. Not much is known about the device’s specifications at this point, but we do know that it is going to be a global device. In the US, the smartphone will be sold by Sprint, possibly within the next few weeks. Apart from the US, the Bolt will also make its way to Europe, Asia, and Africa as well. And if the smartphone’s design is anything to go by, it sure does seem like an upper mid-range offering, somewhat similar to the HTC One A9 from last year. That probably means the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series chipset, at least in select markets. BoomSound audio is likely to be present as well, along with a fingerprint scanner embedded inside the physical home button on the front.

Apart from the actual specifications, it also remains to be seen if the Bolt will be a One-branded handset or if it is going to be Desire-branded.
