After announcing an entire Omen line of products last year, HP took to CES 2017 to announce the availability date of one such previously-announced products: the Omen X Curved Gaming Monitor. It’s a beautifully achieved, 35″ Wide QHD display with 100Hz refresh rate and a 4ms response time. The display’s bezel measures under 6.87mm on the top and the sides (which should prove nearly invisible), and further complementing the immersive gaming experience is the 1800R curvature; this means the distance from someone’s eyes to any point of the monitor should be equal, if they are positioned correctly. The Omen X features a 21:9 screen ratio with a 3440×1440 resolution, displayed by an AMVA+ w/LED backlight type-panel with 178º viewing angles. It features audio output as well as an headphone jack, and the stand supports tilt (5-23 Degrees) and height (5.12-inches) adjustments, with the monitor being detachable from the stand should you prefer to mount it using its VESA mounting capabilities. When it comes to dimensions, it’s a 32.8″ width x 12.95″ depth x 16.14″ height monitor.
Finally, Omen X monitor users with Nvidia-equipped systems will have Nvidia’s G-Sync at their disposal for a smooth gaming experience (and this is where I’d have loved to see Freesync support, but alas, HP takes a chance to carry an even higher price premium on it…)
The HP Omen X 35″ Curved Display will be available on March 12 for an eye-watering $1,299.
