Google has just announced that support for the Android Market app on Android 2.1 Eclair and older devices will end on June 30, 2017. Most developers no longer support these Android versions, so this won’t affect many devices, but those that still use the Android Market will no longer be able to access or install other apps from the market.
According to Google, there are less than 0.1 percent devices that run Android 2.1 or older. Don’t expect any notification about this due to technical restrictions and if you still use the store, make sure to install all apps until the end of June since you won’t be able to do that after.
