Full Android integration, including Google Assistant, is in the works for vehicles. A new version of the Assistant tool has been designed to offer some car-specific features not found on the devices currently offering the feature. It works with 3D mapping and satellite images, for example.
We already know a more complete version of Android will be integrated in Audi and Volvo vehicles as soon as next year. It’ll likely show up on more cars as well.
This will take Android’s presence within the automobile market well beyond what Google has accomplished with the existing version of Android Auto.
