Google Testing VoLTE Calls For Some Project Fi Subscrib…

While Google Fiber is downsizing and hundreds of employees are moving out of Alphabet’s Access division and into other parts of the company, the Project Fi is getting some improvements. The company has started testing LTE voice calls with a “subset” of its customer base.

Since Project Fi is available for Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular, only T-Mobile supports VoLTE so it is likely that the feature is available only when you’re on T-Mobile’s network. The company hasn’t said when all subscribers can expect LTE calling. Users will notice when they are on VoLTE because the quality will be significantly better.
