During the PwnFest hacking competition held in Seoul, a group called Qihoo 360 has demonstrated how to hack Google’s flagship Pixel handset in under 60 seconds. The team used an undisclosed vulnerability to gain remote code execution for $120,000 cash prize.
Both Pixel smartphones were affected by the bug, but Google Google said that the bug was patched within 24 hours of the event and the changes have already been released into the stable branch by the Chrome team.
The team also hacked two other apps and cached in a total of $520,000 at the event. Following the Pixel hack, they also demonstrated vulnerabilities in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 and in Adobe Flash.
