Lyft’s application for drivers now includes Google Maps, removing the need for them to switch between applications in order to start a trip. This makes things easier for users and should allow trips to start sooner. For now, Maps integration only exists on Android, but the iOS app is getting it “soon.”
Although it’s quite easy to switch between applications on both mobile platforms, this kind of integration still reduces the steps required for each trip, which can’t be a bad thing.
Uber has its own in-app navigation option that it’s been improving to create an adequate alternative to Google Maps.
