Google has a new venture capital fund that’ll specifically help support startups in the artificial intelligence space. The fund, known as Gradient Ventures, will offer both financial support and “technical mentorship” to young AI companies showing promise in the ever expanding field.
Drawing upon Google’s existing connection to AI, Gradient Ventures will give startups access to help from well-known individuals like Ray Kurzweil (a prominent futurist), Matis Duarte, and Astro Teller (leader of Alphabet’s X Lab).
Four companies are already being assisted by Gradient: Algorithmia, Aurima, Cape, and Cogniac.
