First rumours were saying that Google is working on three new Pixel smartphones for 2017, codenamed “muskie”, “walleye”, and “taimen”. The “muskie” was expected to be a true Pixel 2 successor, while the “walleye” is the base and “taimen” the largest Pixel 2 model.
Unfortunately, there’s not much information about them except that we won’t see 3, but 2 new Pixel 2 devices. Latest reports suggest that Google has decided to drop the “muskie” handset in favor of larger “taimen” model. The exact reason why is unknown, but the “taimen” is now expected to be a true successor to the Pixel XL.
