Google Wifi, something that we didn’t anticipate from today’s press conference, is a new smart router for modular, customizable home networking. It comes in two versions – as a single unit or in a multipack, and both models are far cheaper than some other solutions.
The single unit costs $129, and the three-pack costs $299. Both models will be available for pre-order in the US in November and will ship to customers in December.
As for the technical data, they support AC1200 wireless speeds, with simultaneous dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. The main goal of the device is to resolve dead Wi-Fi spots by using multiple access points spread throughout the home. The included software allows you to control the device linked to the router.
