The 2016 Electronics Trade Show hosted by Global Sources is taking place in Hong Kong during October 18-21. About 2,600 booths will exhibit mobile consumer electronics including smartphones, tablets and smart wearable devices.
The show is expected to attract over 30,000 buyers to participate, a growth of 5-10% from the number a year ago.
In the show, about 300 booths will be used to promote and showcase virtual reality-related (VR) products and services, such as head mounted displays (HMD), VR backpack, all-in-one VR, VR camera and accessories.
Smart home products, surveillance systems and smart entertainment applications are also focuses of the exhibition.
This year, the show is seeing increased number of buyers from the US and Southeast Asia, while the numbers for Japan and Brazil were down slightly from a year ago. Over 50% of the buyers will be from non-China or Hong Kong markets. IT players including Acer, IBM, Sony, Samsung Electronics, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Qualcomm and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) have also sent people to visit the show.
