This is the first Gigabyte BRIX PC equipped with a Core i3 processor that makes use of fanless and thus passive cooling, using a 15W Core i3-7100U processor.
In recent years, Mini computers have become common and popular which includes the like of Intel NUC and Gigabyte Brix, due to space being limited, these mini-computers provide merely ‘decent’ performance and low heat output. Gigabyte has introduced their new Brix mini PC named GB-EKi3A-7100, its is the first Gigabyte equipped Brix PC featuring fanless passive cooling. It also has a Core i3-7100U processing Device which has a TDP of 15w.
Gigabyte GB-EKi3A-7100 mini-computer looks like a normal Brix PC but it is a bit different, because of its passive cooling feature, the entire surface has cooling fins of dimensions 180x117x36 mm, It has a weight of 978 grams. In addition to that, it supports VESA wall mount installation.
Gigabyte GB-EKi3A-7100 supports two slots SO-DIMM DDR4 memory upto 32 GB. It also supports an M.2 based solid state disks. There are also two USB 3.1 Type-C interfaces, two USB 3. ports, HDMI 2.0 and mini DP 1.2 interfaces. There is a 802.11ac dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2. The most special thing is that this mini-computer also supports a COM interface which means that this mini-computer is not only for the personal PC market but also industrial terminal market.
