GIGABYTE has launched the B250M-Gaming 5 motherboard, its latest micro-ATX offering for the latest 7th Generation Intel Kaby Lake processors. Of course, like any other Intel 200-series motherboard, the GA-B250M-Gaming 5 does support 6th Generation Intel ‘Skylake’ processors as well.
The B250M-Gaming 5 motherboard comes equipped with what Gigabyte claims is the most advanced LED system in the market today. The RGB Fusion lighting offers users a choice of 16.8 million colors, two programmable sections, seven different lighting effects, and accent LED with interchangeable overlay. There is support for RGBW light strips as well, so if you feel the factory setup isn’t bright enough for you, you can install standard 12V external RGB or RGBW light strips on the RGBW pin header and then control the color using the RGB Fusion software.
Gigabyte has focused on audio performance as well with this board, integrating ALC 1220 codec 120dB SNR HD Audio with a smart headphone amp and USB DAC-UP 2 solution. In terms of storage connectivity, the board includes six SATA 6 Gb/s ports and a 32 Gb/s M.2 slot for the latest ultra-fast NVMe solid state drives. USB connectivity includes a total of 6 USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports and 5 USB 2.0/1.1 ports. Expansion slots include 1 PCI Express x16 slot running at x16, 1 PCI Express x16 slot running at x4, and 2 PCI Express x1 slots. Other key specifications include Intel GbE LAN chip, AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX/ 2-way AMD CrossFire support, four DDR4 DIMM slots, and GIGABYTE dual-UEFI BIOS.
