All eyes are now turned to the next big flagship smartphone launch – Samsung’s Galaxy S9. While Galaxy S8 faced a somewhat minor update in terms of hardware design, rumor has it that Samsung is planning a more substantial visual refresh with the Galaxy S9.
Alongside updated design, the new Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will also come with updated hardware and Samsung is now testing performance of the phone. New benchmark test results appeared on the Geekbench website, which reveals a Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-G960F.
The phone powered by the new Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor and 4 GB of RAM scored 2,680 in single and 7,787 in multi-core tests, which already puts it behind the latest iPhones. For example, the iPhone X scored 4,197 in single and 10,051 in multi-core tests.
It is obvious that Samsung will make more improvements before the launch, but that won’t be enough to catch iPhones in terms of raw performance.
