Ciel & Terre International, a France-based EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) contractor for rooftop PV systems and ground-mounted PV power-generating stations, has set up a subsidiary, Ciel & Terre Taiwan, for promoting floating PV systems in the Taiwan market, according to industry sources.
Ciel & Terre has offered Hydrelio, a model of floating PV systems installed on inland water bodies including lakes, reservoirs and fish ponds, the sources said. Hydrelio features resistance to strong wind with a maximum speed of 210km/hour (58.3m/second).
Ciel & Terre has completed floating PV systems with total installation capacity of 44MWp and is setting up ones with that of 81MWp in the US, Europe, Japan and China. Ciel & Terre Taiwan, through partnership with local clients, has won a project to set up a 5MWp floating PV system on a reservoir in southern Taiwan, with completion scheduled for 2017.
