20th Century Fox has announced that it will be bringing some Alien: Covenant VR content, titled In Utero, to VR users. It was released for the Oculus Rift and Gear VR yesterday, while coming to the HTC Vive, Google Daydream, and Playstation VR on May 10th. The free VR experience will likely be from the baby alien’s perspective as it’s born inside of it’s host, as the name suggest.

The Verge describes the experience: “you start out in a dark, starry void, which slowly resolves as the inside of a person’s thorax. You wake up, hear a little bit of commotion outside the body, and slowly flex your claws before tearing out of the body and trying to kill everything in sight.”

The experience however is not interactive, as it’s not a game, but a 360 video. So all that you can do is watch as the carnage occurs. The whole experience is about 3 minutes long, and is really only designed to lock you into the experience, gearing you up for the release of the new Alien movie when it hits theaters May 10th.

Have any of our Oculus Rift or Gear VR owning readers tried out the In Utero experience yet? Is it any good? Does it make you want to watch the upcoming movie? Let us know in the comment section below.
