Faraday Future’s chance of manufacturing electric vehicles next year has declined due to a delay in the construction of its Nevada factory. Work at the construction site began in April, bit nothing has occurred since then. Nevada state treasurer Dan Schwartz says the project is on hold because Faraday Future failed to pay its construction partner.
Aecom, who is handling construction, doesn’t expect this to be an ongoing problem. Work on the factory should pick back up in early 2017, though that makes it very likely Faraday Future’s vehicle timeline will be affected.
The Financial Times reports a former employee said it was “not possible” deliveries would begin next year.
